Hey, friends!
We’re thrilled to have you here. The mabel gray travel guide is a collaborative effort between Chef James Rigato and Paulina Schemanski. Let us introduce ourselves.
A seasoned traveler averaging five countries a year, Chef Rigato is a student of the world who lives for throwing himself into a new culture to deep dive the food, beverage and hospitality scene in a way that only a chef can: stomach first.
“I have a massive appetite for food, travel and knowledge. I love sharing my travel stories and find that the more I travel, the more I am asked to help others choose the right hotels, restaurants, and adventures. This guide is our effort to compile a meaningful experience for the hungry and the curious!”
Paulina is a champagne-obsessed sommelier and restaurant General Manager whose real talent lies in writing an itinerary, packing in a carry-on, and making city-specific Google maps to share with friends.
“For years, Chef has been sending me recommendations while he’s abroad - screenshots of menus, pins to secret ramen shops, videos of fishing excursions. While he may not always have the time to organize these finds, I think the information is invaluable and have been secretly taking notes.”
Thus, the mabel gray travel guide was born: a monthly newsletter providing the tools, tips, and advice to travel the world like a chef.
As a subscriber, you’ll receive three posts a month: one city guide (Think: Tokyo! Abruzzo! Mexico City!), one Q&A video and a recipe post. Not a frequent traveler? No worries! These posts will include cultural touchstones (art, music, books) that can bring the experience to you, without the cost of airfare. We aim to provide an extensive breakdown of how and why we travel and the insight of someone who truly lives to cook, eat and explore. Won’t you join us?
Subscribe to get full access to the newsletter. Subscribers have full access to each city guide, Q&A videos, live chats, recipes and more!
